I Ching
The Book of Changes
One question, six lines, a clearer view.
Cast the I Ching and see what your situation holds and how it is moving. The choice is still yours.
What is the I Ching?
The I Ching is one of the oldest Chinese classics. It is built on 64 hexagrams, figures of six lines, each solid or broken, and every hexagram and line has a short classic text, read for centuries with a long tradition of commentary. You ask one question and cast once. The hexagram you get shows what your situation holds, and its changing lines show how it is moving.
Three steps to your reading
Settle your mind and ask one question
Take a moment, then say the full question to yourself. Ask a matter only once: your first cast gives the clearest answer.
Press Cast
Keep the question in mind and press Cast. The six lines form one by one, from the bottom up.
Read your hexagram
Your reading covers the present situation and the lines that are changing. Professional and Premium add where it is heading. Then ask more about the same cast.
Prefer to cast by hand? Use your own coins.
Toss three coins six times, as the I Ching has long been cast, then enter each line on the site. Your cast is read just like one made here.

Questions about the I Ching
One of the oldest Chinese classics, built on 64 hexagrams of six solid or broken lines. Every hexagram and every line has a short classic text, read for centuries with a long tradition of commentary. Your reading draws on that text and that tradition.
Your first cast is your answer. Casting again for the same matter in the hope of a different hexagram only clouds it. When the situation changes, or a new question comes up, cast again then.
A line thrown with three matching coins is changing: a solid line marked O, or a broken line marked X. Each changing line turns into its opposite, and together they give the hexagram your cast turns into, which shows where things are heading.
On Free you cast and get a reading of your hexagram and its changing lines. Professional adds where it is heading, with the hexagram your cast turns into, and lets you cast with your own coins. Premium reads deeper and at greater length.
Yes, on Professional and Premium. Toss three coins six times, enter each line, and your cast is read just like one made on the site. Our page on casting with three coins shows each step.
It does not fix an outcome. It reflects your situation as it is now and the way it tends to move, so you can see it more clearly. What you do next is up to you.
